vocational education and training
for production of skilled workers in
Africa. These are the people who will
then operate, service and maintain
machinery as and when it is delivered
to African customers. This project has
been launched in Nigeria, Kenya and
now Botswana. It brings real experience
of the knowledge and needs of the
industry to locals to develop skilled
craftsmen. With this in mind, the local
industry will be able to catch up and
be more active in extending the value-
added chain and receive skilled experts
at the same time.
To align this with the goals of the
Government of Botswana,VDMA
collaborated with the Ministry of
Employment Labor Productivity and
Skills Development which is also
responsible for TVET in Botswana,
through its training center-Construction
Industry Trust Fund (CITF). This
partnership forms a very important
milestone in the transition process of
the CITF as it transforms into Rapid Skills
Development Centre. There is need to
note that,these programmes are not
offered anywhere else in the country. Federal Republic Of Germany President His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier (C)
