n a village of Molotwane you can find a
robot maker by the name of Kabelo Julius
IMokorotso. He is the founder of Cyber
Kajumo Rigs, a company that deals with
innovation in the robot creation industry.

He was inspired by scientific movies to start
robot creation. To create a robot, he used
metal that is no longer in use so as to recycle
it. Most of the robots he created are painted
black which reflects that they are made in
Africa since there is no robot factory on the
continent.

Talking to Engineer Magazine in an interview
on the sidelines of the 2019 Global Expo
Botswana held at Ditshupo hall recently. He
was sponsored by New Era College of Arts and
Technology to showcase his projects. New
Era college has also added Robotics as part
of their curriculum. He said he has created
an army robot which he named ‘Kajumo’ the
name derived from his real name. Kajumo is
a trademark for his company. He added that
the robot is made for Botswana’s first movie.
“I want to inspire children because they see
robots in the movies so if they can see my
movies they can get inspired.”

He continued by saying that he is going to
create more robots in the future and he is
working on creating animation for movies.
He also said he creates robots for landmarks
and inspire innovation in Botswana.
