About BIUST

The University was established by the Botswana Interna-
tional University of Science and Technology Act of 2005.
It was founded as a catalyst for economic transformation,
BIUST is also geared to carry out a research program as
part of its core business. The Institution is a Government
of Botswana project physically located in Palapye, a small
town that is 270 Kilometers north of Gaborone, the Bo-
tswana Capital City. It will ultimately accommodate 6 000
students and is conceptualised to earn a reputation as a
